Job Summary
At Eoptic, we develop cutting-edge technologies that address critical, unmet needs in complex imaging across industries such as space, security & defense, medical, and industrial metrology. We’re looking for a talented, motivated, and detail-oriented Quality Manager to join our team and oversee all aspects of quality assurance and compliance with relevant standards.
The Quality Manager will play a key role in supporting management and functional teams with tasks related to documentation control, internal and external audits, corporate training, quality standard implementation and change management. Specifically, they will be responsible for designing and implementing policies and procedures that ensure adherence to quality standards, managing revision control, verify tailored best-practice compliance, and overseeing the filing, storage, and retrieval of documents. Additionally, they will manage the integration of internal documents, external standards, and conduct gap analysis to maintain operational excellence.
Job Responsibilities (not limited to):
- Collaborates with management and engineering teams to implement and leverage Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Quality Assurance (QA) practices to enhance performance and efficiency in achieving quality outcomes.
- Create/revise, oversee the review of and maintain procedures, SOPs, Work Instructions, and obsolete documents.
- Performs internal audits. Addresses non-conformities from previous internal and external audits.
- Review contracts to determine contract deliverable requirements (CDRLs) and ensure compliance.
- Ensure technical, test, performance, cost, schedule and quality requirements are met and that outcomes are consistent with established engineering and management principles and practice.
- Manage Quality Assurance activities for engineering projects of small to moderate size and complexity.
- Assess project risk areas and develop and maintain risk mitigation plans and registries.
- Manage customer complaint process by documenting all complaints, incidents and escalations, communicating with appropriate personnel/groups, and resolving in a timely manner.
- Responsible for maintenance of inspection reports and QMS records.
- Responsible for Calibration of Equipment and records.
- Material Review Board (MRB) Dispositions
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline (e.g. computer science, mathematics, physics, chemistry).
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing, quality, and/or design engineering role
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience within the technical writing/document control profession.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a leadership role with achieved KPI’s.
- Demonstrated experience with application of aerospace quality standards, such as AS9100 or ISO 9001.
- Experience in a high-risk/high-complexity production background (e.g. automotive, commercial aviation, aerospace, medical devices, or consumer electronics).
- Experience with standards and/or equivalent quality, military, or government standards in the aerospace industry.
- Experience in planning for and participating in internal and external audits.
Qualifications Preferred:
- Master's degree in engineering or related discipline (e.g. computer science, mathematics, physics, chemistry).
- 10+ years of hands-on experience with demonstrated examples of continuous improvement focus to advance product or process reliability.
- Demonstrated experience applying quality assurance principles, methods, and processes - including inspection techniques, equipment, and tools used in quality control.
- Demonstrated competency in structures/composites, electrical/avionics, and fluids/propulsion disciplines.
- Experience with Electronic Document Management Systems (e.g. Jira, Agile Cloud, Master Control, M-Files) preferred.
- Familiarity with ITAR requirements.
- Quality leadership experience on Government contracts.
